We are very pleased to host Stephanie Quirk again in Italy. In this seminar Stephanie will explore the effects of āsana and prānāyāma through the nervous system-sensory, motor, peripheral, central, cranial, afferent, efferent etc.
In our yoga practice, the nervous system is studied and examined through any embodied act. We will use āsana and prānāyāma to examine the strongly integrative aspect that the nervous system brings. That integration is the weaving of motor acts, sensory perceptions and the mind (ekadasendriya=the eleven senses). Combined and integrated this is the vyana vayu – the energy that like a fine web covers everything.
Part of this study Stephanie will look into when those systems become disorganized. What is found and how it is addressed.
The seminar is open to certified teachers and those who are in a mentorship. It is a seminar where practice and observation will take place
SEMINAR COST: € 520.00 (of which € 280 for course, € 240 for board which includes three meals per day non-refundable if not consumed). This cost does not include overnight stay.

ARRIVAL: afternoon of October 2, dinner at 7:30 pm. The first class to be on Thursday, October 3 at 10 a.m.
DEPARTURE: Sunday, October 6 at 4 p.m.
Please bring your practice mat, all other equipment will be provided by the organization.
TRANSPORTATION:
CAR: For those taking the Autostrada del Sole, exit at Valdichiana (for more information: www.montauto.it).
TRAIN: For those coming by train, the nearest station is Sinalunga on the Siena-Chiusi railway line. Remember in time to let the Secretariat know the time of your arrival at the Station because there is no cab service and we have to arrange to pick you up.
SHUTTLE SERVICE: There will be a shuttle bus available for the transfer from Florence to Montauto, leaving from Via San Gervasio 18, on Wednesday, October 2 at 3 pm and for the return from Montauto to Florence on the afternoon of October 6 at 4:15 pm. Cost of €35.00 per trip. To be booked and paid in advance, non-refundable.
RESERVATION: The number of participants is limited. The course is open only to Iyengar Yoga Institute Florence members. Requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations will be confirmed only after payment of the deposit of €300. Cancellations before September 10, 2024 will be refunded the amount paid as deposit with a deduction of €100. After September 10, no refund.
LODGING:
The cost of lodging is separate. Different types of accommodations are available:
1) there are some double rooms in the house, which will be reserved for couples. The rest of the rooms have 2 beds each. For accommodation in the house, the cost is 160 €. Places are limited and priority will be given to those who stay every day.
2) camping with facilities. It is necessary to bring camping supplies. The cost of camping is 80 €.
